Well, a lot has happened in the past few weeks, which explains why I have been a tad on the quiet side. Please forgive me – I was preparing for my island hopping trip around Indonesia, then was actually carrying out said island hopping, followed by me now returned safely to the UK and getting right back into the swing of things! My next couple of posts will be various ‘arty-farty stuffs’ from my trip that are – I think – pretty darn cool.
And I’m going to start with the awesome street art that we stumbled upon in Java, mainly in the Yogyakarta region – the art and culture capital of the island. A quick word on Java as a whole – it’s stunning. It has volcanoes, and temples, and history, and such lovely friendly people, great food, beautiful batik made from talented students and experienced artists alike…in a word – GO!
But back to the topic at hand…street art. Here are a few of my favourite snaps. I love how the artists aren’t fighting for space and just working over each other, everything combines to make rather eclectic and quirky pieces. Plus the lamp posts don;t get left out. I like that.
